Chapter 59 Break through
Beside them, Sword Demon\'s face twitched as his thoughts raced wildly.
"When did you descend, and when did you kill the real Elf Queen?" the sect master asked, glancing at her son.
"About a thousand years ago," the Elf Queen responded, and Sword Demon sighed in relief.
"I was only with her two thousand years ago," Sword Demon thought, sipping his wine, now unbothered.
"Son, be more careful and stick with those your age," the sect master warned, her expression tense.
Sword Demon nodded as a small dragon sipped from his gourd.
"Well, I have to report this back," the Elf Queen said, smirking. "Sword Demon, your mother is too weak. She will only slow us down. We just need her for experiments... she\'s disposable."
Sword Demon\'s sword intent flared, covering the area but unable to affect the two beings.
All the sect masters and elders present were shocked. Sword Demon had broken through to high-level Rank 2 within 50,000 years. He truly was a monster.
"Well, too bad you won\'t be going back," the sect master remarked, preparing to attack. At that moment, the King of Giants and other Rank 2 beings from the giant and demon races appeared.
"Good, you\'re all here," the sect master commented with a radiant smile.
She slowly raised her hand, and the Elf Queen in front of her began to shrink.
"No... you... you\'ve broken through! You\'re not a—" The Elf Queen\'s scream was cut short, leaving behind a small ball of flesh.
With a snap of her fingers, the flesh disintegrated into nothingness.
The sect masters, elders, Sword Demon, and the Rank 2 beings from the demon and giant races were left in awe. Even the Giant King, who was slightly stronger than the now-dead Elf Queen, was visibly shaken by how easily she was destroyed.
The sect master had surpassed their realm, and the Elf Queen\'s final words still echoed in their minds. They couldn\'t believe it.
"You... you\'ve broken through?" the Giant King asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I have," the sect master confirmed. "So stop this meaningless war and return. After all, you\'re a peak being yourself—you know who the real enemy is."
The rest of the Rank 2 beings watched, still in shock. After 35,000 years, a new quasi-rank 3 had emerged.
"...Yes," the Giant King finally conceded through gritted teeth, turning back to his army. "Retreat!" he ordered.
As the enemy retreated, Shen Ye, drenched in blood, had devoured enough to reach the peak of Rank 1. He stood upon mountains of demon corpses.
Chu Su, on the other hand, had only managed to break through to high-level Rank 1 from her previous middle level.
All the sect masters descended, Sword Demon following behind his mother, the newly ascended quasi-rank 3 sect master of the Quinlan Sect.
"Everyone, the war is over. The human side has a quasi-rank 3 being," an elder announced, and the human army erupted in cheers.
The kings of all kingdoms stepped forward and knelt on one knee. "We greet the Empress of the Human Race," they declared, as the elders and other sect masters bowed.
Sword Demon watched the scene unfold, smiling. He set Anya down as she ran to her brother and embraced him.
"It\'s all over. You\'re safe now, and we\'re both stronger," Shen Ye said with a smile as Anya wept in his arms.
"It\'s not over yet, Void. Wait until I reach Rank 2," Shen Ye thought, smiling slightly.
**At the Giant King\'s Abode...**
Void chewed on the flesh of a massive beast, his gaze sweeping the room. A faint smile flickered across his face, while beside him, Linkir watched coldly. Void glanced at her from time to time, flashing a brief smile.
Suddenly, Void felt his heart skip a beat. He narrowed his eyes, a frown forming. "Something unexpected has happened," he muttered. It was an intrusion—something akin to a demon\'s seventh sense.
Hours passed, and Void sensed multiple powerful auras approaching. The giants had returned.
*Knock... knock...*
"Come in," Void said calmly from the room. A giant entered, looking up in shock at Void\'s towering 130-meter frame but still delivering his message.
"The Giant King summons you," the giant said, his voice steady despite his awe.
Void stood up, casting a glance at Linkir. "Jump up," he commanded indifferently. Something didn\'t feel right. Linkir leaped into the air, landing on Void\'s outstretched palm. At her current size of just two meters—though a Rank 1 being—she was minuscule compared to him. But that would change once she advanced to Rank 2.
Void followed the giant to the familiar hall. This time, he was alone. The Giant King sat upon his throne, his eyes opening slowly as Void entered.
"Let me guess—you didn\'t get the souls," Void said, his voice laced with mild annoyance.
The Giant King nodded. "An unexpected problem arose."
Void\'s frown deepened. "I\'m guessing that\'s not the real reason you called me here."
"No..." The Giant King produced a flag and tossed it toward Void. "These are the souls I managed to gather. Can you help me? I promise to repay you after I complete my transformation."
Void caught the flag, his expression unreadable. "System, convert the souls to standard Rank 2 souls."
*(Ding)*
*(2000/94,000 - Peak Rank 1 souls)*
*(Ding)*
*(2/2300)*
Void inspected the flag. "5,300 souls... Not bad." He knew the rarity of Rank 2 beings within a universe.
"Alright, let\'s begin," Void said, his tone sharp as he frowned. The Giant King stood, his 50-meter frame now dwarfed by Void\'s massive form. Void, however, wasn\'t naive. He knew the Giant King would likely attempt to kill him once they reached the Abyss, hoping to avoid repaying the debt. After all, demons thrived on souls.
"You went out recently, didn\'t you?" the Giant King asked, noticing Void\'s increased size.
"Just for a stroll," Void replied, summoning his colossal sword, now 90 meters long. He used it to cut his finger, allowing a large drop of blood—nearly 10 meters in size—to form.
Void frowned, feeling a strange weakness for the first time, but it passed quickly as his body regenerated. The room\'s temperature rose sharply as the blood floated toward the Giant King.
"I hope your will is strong enough," Void commented coldly as the blood seeped into the Giant King\'s body through every opening.
A smile crept onto Void\'s face. *You thought you could deceive me, a demon? Foolish creature... Now, become my servant.*
"Yes... this power... my life force..." the giant king murmured, feeling his body undergoing rapid transformation, starting from his limbs upward.
"System, how long until my breakthrough?" Void asked, a wide smile forming on his face.
(In a flash.)
"Oh... then break through," Void said, his grin widening even more.
As the transformation took hold, Void\'s size increased, growing from 130 meters to a towering 180 meters. The giant king now seemed much smaller in comparison. Continue your saga on empire
Void had finally broken through to the middle level.
"System."
(Ding)
{Host: Void. Race: Primordial Demon. Rank: 2 (Quasi-high level). Height: 180 meters}
{Strength: High. Speed: Middle. Stamina: High.}
{Elements: Fire 34%, Wind 23%, Gravity 20%, Water 10%, Space 5%. Soul: 0/15,000. Blessing: Son of the Abyss.}
Void looked at the system notifications with satisfaction, his head now brushing the ceiling of the grand hall. His eyes drifted down to the giant king\'s body, lying motionless on the ground. He hadn\'t survived.
"System."
(Host, the higher the rank of the being compared to you, the more reduced the success rate of transformation. For those weaker, it is nearly guaranteed.)
"So, when you said 0.001%, it applied to beings stronger than me," Void mused.
(Yes.)
"Well, quite unfortunate," Void murmured, though a faint smile played on his lips as a giant soul floated from the king\'s corpse. He grasped it in his hand and swallowed.
(Ding... 20,000 souls gained.)
"System, initiate breakthrough," Void commanded with a grin.
(Ding.)
Void\'s size began increasing again, his growth shattering the roof above.
Linkir watched in stunned silence, her eyes wide with disbelief. Her master had grown even stronger, but could she ever exact her revenge now? Could she even hope to stand against him?
"No... I will get my revenge... I will kill until I do," Linkir vowed internally, though Void\'s now massive palm dwarfed her completely.
"System."
(Ding)
{Host: Void. Race: Primordial Demon. Rank: 2 (Quasi-peak). Height: 240 meters.}
{Strength: Peak. Speed: Peak. Stamina: High.}
{Elements: Fire, Space, Gravity, Water, Wind, Darkness, Light (+20). Soul: 5,000/80,000. Blessing: Son of the Abyss.}
"I am a powerhouse now," Void muttered, his voice filled with satisfaction. He could feel the very fabric of this space weakening beneath his newfound strength.
Raising a hand, Void extended a finger and casually traced a line through the air. A black void appeared—he had torn open the second layer of space with nothing more than a gesture.
"He... his... how strong is he?" Linkir thought, watching the tear in space slowly close. She knew that entering such a void would mean her death, yet Void had created it effortlessly.
"Could I ever become this powerful?" she whispered, more to herself than anyone else.
"We should leave," Void said, his voice calm, as he vanished from the spot. A massive hole appeared where he had stood moments before, the first layer of space torn apart as Void\'s body disappeared.
Not long after, multiple high-level Rank 2 giants arrived, only to find the lifeless body of their king lying on the ground.
"Our... king... dead?" one of the giants stammered in disbelief.

"Master, Anya and I are heading to the giant kingdom to kill that demon. We\'ll return soon," Shen Ye said, a determined smile on his face.
His master, the Sword Demon, sipped from his wine, the small dragon at his side now about a meter tall.
"Don\'t climb," Sword Demon said, handing the nearly empty wine gourd to the dragon, who obediently carried it away, while Shen Ye and Anya chuckled at the sight.
"Alright, disciple... I wish you luck. Killing that demon will resolve any heart demons you may have, especially when breaking through to Quasi-rank 3. After all, you are the youngest Rank 2 being I know. Your potential is enormous," Sword Demon encouraged.
Shen Ye and Anya bowed respectfully before departing. As they passed the gates of the Quinlan Sect, Shen Ye glanced back with a fond smile.
A floral scent filled the air, and Shen Ye looked ahead to see his senior sister, Chu Su, approaching after completing a task. Her aura was still unstable; she had just broken through to the peak of Rank 1.
"You\'re leaving now?" Chu Su asked as she drew closer.
"Yes," Shen Ye replied.
"Alright... I wish you the best, junior brother," Chu Su said, offering him a rare smile.
Shen Ye smiled back. The cold beauty was finally starting to accept him as someone close. Watching her walk away, he turned to his cute sister.
"Let\'s go," Shen Ye said.
"This is my family. I will return after killing Void," he thought, his anger palpable. He had broken through to Rank 2, and from what he could sense, he was as strong as Void had been on that day. With his devouring ability... he would kill Void.
"Void, your death is near," Shen Ye vowed as he flew off with his sister.

Three months later...
Sword Demon was summoned by his mother.
"Son, I have grave news. The giant king was killed. I just received the message. They tried to hide it, but the killer was aided by a demon. Based on the information we\'ve gathered, that demon must be at least middle-level Rank 2," the sect master of the Quinlan Sect said, her voice heavy with concern.
Sword Demon\'s eyes widened in shock.
"Oh no... Shen Ye..." he murmured, disappearing in an instant.
As he vanished, the sect master sighed deeply.
"The news that I am a Quasi-rank 3 being has spread. I can\'t move openly, or it will be seen as an act of aggression. And I can\'t kill them all. I need their help in the battle against the ancient clan... I must save my husband. But they have too many Quasi-rank 3s to hold me down...
If only I were already at Rank 3..." she thought, her frown deepening as she stared in the direction her son had gone.

"Damn... damn it all... those damn giants! I hope Shen Ye is still alive. Damn it, I hope he hasn\'t crossed paths with that demon," Sword Demon cursed under his breath, his teeth clenched as his dragon watched silently from his sleeve.
