Chapter 19 - A Pact with Aunt Song Qian!
“Finished? All of it?” Song Qian asked, incredulous. She accepted the test paper and began to review it carefully.
The paper was neatly written, the handwriting meticulous and pleasing. Were it a humanities exam, such careful penmanship might have earned extra marks. However, for a science paper, everything was hinged on correct answers.
Without delay, Song Qian began marking, her familiarity with the material evident. Within ten minutes, she had finished.
She stared at the bright red perfect score in disbelief. She had expected Su Bai to perform modestly—perhaps mediocre at best. But this…
“Well, Aunt Song, about our little agreement—isn’t it time to honour it?” Su Bai grinned eagerly, already plotting how to utilise her stock market account.
Sighing, Song Qian relented. “Fine, you can use my account. There’s a small amount in there—use that to test the waters, but promise me not to add any more money.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful,” Su Bai assured her.
She handed over the account details just as Qiao Yingzi burst out of her room. Despite the soundproofing, she had overheard the wager.
Seeing her mother grant Su Bai access to her stock account was proof enough of his success. Yingzi was curious—just how well did Su Bai perform?
Upon seeing the perfect score, she was dumbfounded. She knew how challenging the exam was—she had scraped by with 80 marks despite her best efforts. Su Bai, however, had achieved full marks. What’s more, some of his answers differed from the standard solutions, indicating he had relied entirely on his own understanding.
Her admiration quickly morphed into frustration. She had thought Su Bai was an academic underachiever and had even planned to tutor him. Now, it was clear she had underestimated him.
Su Bai, just wait. Pretending to be a slacker? I won’t let you off so easily. Yingzi made the vow silently and retreated to her room, feeling an unprecedented pressure to reclaim her place as top student.

“Wow, Aunt Song, you’ve got quite the savings—there’s 100,000 yuan worth of stocks in here!” Su Bai exclaimed, checking the account.
Song Qian gave a casual shrug. “It’s just something I dabble in during my free time. Use it if you’re interested, but remember, no adding extra funds.”
Su Bai could hardly believe his ears. 100,000 yuan was a significant amount, yet Song Qian handed it over so lightly. However, he knew their situations differed. His funds came effortlessly through system rewards, while Song Qian’s money was earned through hard work. She supplemented her income by running a tutoring business despite having a rental income.
“You’re too kind, Aunt Song,” Su Bai said gratefully, and Song Qian’s face lit up with a smile.
“It’s nothing. You study the market while I get back to teaching.” She walked away, her steps noticeably lighter.
To her, even if Su Bai lost all the money, it wasn’t catastrophic—it amounted to a year’s rental income. She was willing to take the risk if it would encourage him to focus on his studies.
If it were Yingzi who had asked for the account, Song Qian would have refused outright. But for Su Bai, she felt a vague sense of indebtedness.
Unaware of her sentiments, Su Bai was simply thrilled to have secured the account. He decided that the stock market’s closure over the weekend was a blessing—it gave him time to strategise.
“System, activate the Buffett Experience Card,” he commanded.
Immediately, his mind flooded with comprehensive knowledge of the stock market. Armed with this expertise, Su Bai embarked on his journey to master the market. He vowed not to disappoint Song Qian—he intended to make her money grow.

System Notification: Sign-in feature has been updated. Would you like to sign in now?
“Sign in,” Su Bai replied eagerly.
Ding! Sign-in successful. You have received 1,000,000 yuan.
Hearing the system’s reward, Su Bai sat bolt upright in bed, his excitement palpable.
