Chapter 419: The Carefree Second Brother

“Captain, I’m leaving too. I’ll mail the equipment and other items to your account later,” the female Priest stated with determination.

The frontline defender was taken by surprise. The others were stunned and asked, “What are you…”

“I’m going to find Regret.” The female priest then activated her Hearthstone to leave.

“I knew you liked that madman.” The frontline defender looks visibly distraught. He had suspected the outcome, but hearing her say it made him feel even worse.

The Priest was their old friend. He had the same feelings for her and had openly pursued her, only to be consistently rejected. On the other hand, she had a soft spot for the outspoken Carefree Regret.

Without saying another word, the female Priest teleported away, and the others were left feeling gloomy.

The initial tense atmosphere became awkward. After all, there was still animosity between the two parties. How could they still fight in such an atmosphere?

“Our big brother has permitted you to come and go freely, but he hopes you won’t disrupt our boss fight. Otherwise, we, the Carefree Studio players, are prepared to fight to the death with you today,” the frontline defender coldly stated.

Li Yao was unconcerned by his threat.

He headed straight towards the place where the Carefree Studio was fighting the boss. The defenders’ faces immediately changed as they followed close behind him.

Li Yao initially intended to steal their boss. He wasn’t ashamed of it; if Carefree Studio didn’t allow it, he would just fight his way through.

But seeing the situation upfront, Li Yao gave up on his plan. They were indeed working on an order.

Moreover, the client was the black tycoon who had previously bought Li Yao’s equipment, a man from a powerful family.

Li Yao was this kind of person, if he didn’t know you or was your enemy, he would be unhesitant. But his client was a well-known tycoon, extremely wealthy, and genuinely not short of money.

Hiring Carefree Studio was clearly for an important mission. If he stole their boss, he would undoubtedly end up with a formidable enemy.

Li Yao wasn’t afraid, but provoking such a tycoon wasn’t a wise choice either.

In his past life, Li Yao remembered the case where a guild offended the black tycoon. And the guild was definitely in the wrong.

The tycoon couldn’t accept it. When someone tried to apologize to the vice guild leader, the guild merely responded with indifference, questioning what a wealthy person could do to them.

The guild was arrogant, refusing to apologize and even insulted the tycoon for being a rich black man.

Furious, the tycoon spent money to form several trash guilds which harassed the offending guild daily.

As the home base of the guild was fixed, they couldn’t escape. The several trash guilds specifically recruited low-quality players, employing all kinds of shady tactics just to mess with the targeted guild.

The tycoon had money to burn, so for over two months, he tormented them. Eventually, this guild couldn’t stand it anymore, with many players leaving.

This medium-sized guild was forced to disband. They weren’t afraid of a guild war.

But they couldn’t stand the personal insults and numerous underhand tactics, given that ordinary players were playing the game merely for entertainment. Who could endure that for over two months?

The guild leader regretted it, tried to negotiate through connections, but the tycoon had long forgotten about the incident and disregarded their attempts at reconciliation. In the end, the tycoon spent a large amount of money, and the guild was finished.

If he did the same to Starfire, although they wouldn’t disband, they would be considerably disturbed. So, Li Yao didn’t rush to act.

Moreover, he knew this boss too well. It didn’t usually drop any good items and it was only a mission boss. Li Yao wasn’t particularly interested.

“Prairie Fire, it’s such a coincidence that we meet again. Are you doing a mission or leveling up here?” a human man wearing a Mage Robe asked Li Yao.

“Just levelling up,” Li Yao answered casually. “And you are?”

Of course, Li Yao recognized Carefree’s second brother, although they were meeting for the first time in this timeline.

“I am Carefree’s second brother. Your speed of levelling up is simply extraordinary. I’m sure there are many who want to learn a tip or two from you. If it’s convenient for you to share a few methods, we can surely negotiate a good price. To your satisfaction, of course.” Carefree’s second brother said, with a grin that suggested they were old friends rather than competitors.

“Second brother, you flatter me. I don’t have any strategy to share. It’s just luck, pure luck.” Li Yao laughed and responded.

“The lady here must be Li Sis, the leader of Starfire. I didn’t expect you to be such a beauty. If word were to get out, it would certainly cause quite a stir,” Carefree’s Second Brother laughed and added, “I greatly admire your skills. Were you not part of Starfire, I would persuade our big brother to let you take the reins of our Carefree Studio.”

Li Sis did not pick up on his comment, but instead said, “Second brother, you’re quite wise, afraid we could cause trouble, aren’t you?”

Second brother being exposed did not make him uncomfortable at all, he confessed candidly, “Li Sis is a smart woman. You understand the current situation; it would not benefit us to fight. It would only make us a laughing stock. Moreover, Prairie Fire’s combat power is frightening. We don’t wish to have any conflicts with Starfire at the moment. How about this, all the boss loot, except for the specific item our client needs, can be freely picked by you.”

“That won’t be necessary,” Li Yao replied with a grin.

“What… Why are you laughing, Prairie Fire?” Second brother asked, confused.

“It’s nothing. You can go about your business. You don’t have to be so tense. If I wanted to cause trouble, I would have done so already. I wouldn’t be wasting time talking to you,” Li Yao replied seriously.

“Alright then, as you wish.” Second brother left, was still confused. He didn’t understand what was happening. He usually regarded Li Yao as a domineering and aggressive person. However, today, Li Yao was unexpectedly amicable. Li Yao’s laugh was strange, it felt unusual, he couldn’t figure out why.

Unable to make any additional breakthroughs, he was just relieved that Li Yao was not causing any trouble, as they were handling a generous client, they didn’t want to scare him away.

Moreover, it wasn’t a great time to clash with Starfire.

“What’s happening? Why was your laughter just now so mischievous?” Li Sis asked curiously once the Carefree Studio players had moved away.

Li Yao cleared his throat, “Really? Was it?”

“Definitely. Just tell me. They won’t hear our private chat,”Li Sis prodded curiously.

Li Yao shook his head, “You will see. This boss is a bit special. Consider it a show. However, they might have someone smart among them. We will see.”

Left with no choice, Li Sis could only watch Carefree Studio battle with the boss….
