Chapter 291 288- News From Weisheng

Li Shu turned his head to Fulong and asked with a confused expression.

“How so?”

“Well, his desire to protect them will be the driving force to become stronger. Just leave him be, he cannot become a Guardian Elder. Focus on your other son, if he’s able to use the token my nephew’s daughter gave him in the Celestial Academy, then he’ll be able to walk the Heaven Suppressing Bridge when it appears.”

“For our clan to go without a Guardian Elder this generation, is that alright?”

Li Shu asked in an unsure tone.

Fulong was silent for a moment then said.

“Our Li Clan has always had two or more Guardian Elders during the reign of an Emperor. Elder brother was the fourth Emperor while sister and I were chosen as Guardian Elders. Now that sister has left that only leaves me. I will remain here, I’m not like the others who seek to discover our origins.”

Li Shu hearing Fulong’s decision was feeling regretful.

“Don’t feel regret, your son has too much potential to be stuck guarding the clan. Isn’t there that child who is the current Saint of the Divine Star Academy? I’ll take him under my wing and teach him what I know. My disciple can also become a Guardian Elder, he\'s comprehending Spatial laws in the Elder\'s Training grounds. He will become a powerful Soul Transformation powerhouse when he breaks through.”

Li Shu’s expression was grateful as he said.

“I thank grand uncle for watching over the clan for so long.”

Fulong waved his hand dismissively.

“How has the movement of the Demonic Cult been?”

Li Shu’s eyes narrowed as he said.

“They won’t be able to enter our Li Clan as long as the Guardian Treasure surrounds us.”

Fulong nodded.

“The Ancestral Grounds is a world fragment obtained by our founding Clan Patriarch and was equal in strength to a Celestial Treasure. However, let\'s extend it to cover the entire Imperial City. I agree with that nephew of mine\'s actions, they have sneaked their way into every crevice of the Continent, it’s about time they\'re rooted out.”

Li Shu nodded before he formed a hand seal and grasp towards the void.

For a brief moment, everyone in the Imperial Palace saw the illusory image of the Ancestral Grounds. The younger generation was shocked by this causing an uproar, but the older generation was relatively calm.

The illusory Ancestral Grounds then expanded and in the blink of an eye, it encapsulated the entire Imperial City.

Suddenly, inside a tavern, an old man coughed up blood before falling over.

Inside a home, a wife was seen being held by her husband as their two children cried nearby.

In various locations in the streets, dozens of people all drop dead.

These people were spies of the Demonic Cult.

A cleansing was being carried out across the Li Clan’s territory.

What was even more terrifying was that a few elders of the Imperial Academy were killed in the same way. A few servants in the Noble Families as well.

This goes to show how deep the Dark Moon Assassins Guild and the Demonic Cult had infiltrated the various powers on the Continent.

As of right now, the chaos the Demonic Cult was causing across the continent was creating pandemonium in the various academies.

The top Clans weren’t an exception.

Like a snake that had been slithering underneath the continent in hiding, it had reared its head above the surface.

Sworn brothers and sisters were battling each other to the death because it turns out one of them was from the Demonic Cult posing as a spy.

You might have known someone for decades but at this moment you would come to find out they were a demonic cultivator in disguise all along.

The whiplash this caused was enough to leave anyone in complete and utter shock.

Meanwhile pandemonium was happening across the Continent, Li Shen was stomping towards his courtyard, obviously still upset about his meeting with his father.

He soon reached, and he saw everyone standing or sitting around the open area.

The only one missing was Mu Fan.

A new face was Fuangu, he was wrapped in bandages as he sat off to the side.

Everyone turned to Li Shen as he entered.

“How’s Mu Fan?”

Lihua responded.

“He’s fine, he\'s in meditation to stabilize his Blade Will.”

Li Shen nodded, before he then turn to Fuangu who was holding his head down.

“What about you?”

Fuangu raised his head and with a forced smile, he said.

“I’m grateful for his highness for saving my life. I just cannot believe my grandfather was a part of the Demonic Cult, it’s just hard to wrap my head around that idea.”

Fuangu’s grandfather was the Eighth Elder of the Sword Pavilion. He was the one Li Shen saw blow himself up to destroy the floating island.

An Elder of the Sword Pavilion being a Demonic Cult spy was shocking for anyone, but for Fuangu it must be even more unbelievable.

Li Shen walked up to him and patted his shoulder.

“I don’t know what to say to cheer you up, but know your welcome to stay here until the chaos has calmed down in the academy.”

Fuangu looked at Li Shen and said with gratefulness.

“Thank you, your highness.”

After, Lihua spoke up and asked Li Shen.

“What now?”

Li Shen hearing that turned to her before sweeping his gaze across Yang Su, Jun, Fang Chen, and Fei Yin.

Li Shen was upset with his father, but he agreed with one of his suggestions.

Opening his mouth he replied.

“What’s next is that we get stronger. We’ll go into joint seclusion to train, and I know just the right place for that.”

Everyone gave each other a glance.

Li Shen went to speak again, but he suddenly felt something.

His plum blossom began to tremble intensely causing his face to become serious.

“Tell Mu Fan to get ready to leave, you all as well, we’re going on a trip so pack what you need for a year.”

"A year?!”

Everyone said in unison, but Li Shen only nodded before saying as he turned to leave.

“You’ll understand when I get back, just get ready.”

With that, Li Shen left his courtyard and the Palace altogether.

After reaching outside he called for Tai and his figure vanished from sight.

Sometime later Li Shen arrived at an ordinary-looking pavilion on the outskirts of the Imperial City.

Li Shen stood there in the void and looked at the Pavilion.

“This is it, where I’m getting the feeling from.”

After mumbling that, he wasted no time entering. It was empty except for the top floor. He saw someone dressed in a cloak that covered his entire body.

A familiar feeling was radiated from this person and his plum blossom was tingling as he approach him.

The cloaked figure stood up and quickly got on his knees and said.

“Greetings his highness, I apologize for calling you like this.”

Li Shen looked down at this person and asked.

“Weisheng, what is it?”

The person turned out to be Weisheng, who he had used his plum blossom ability on.

Weisheng removed his hood to show that he had on a disguised.

With a solemn look on his face, he said.

“I just thought that Young Master would like to know something. Our Ming Clan, we have joined forces with the Dark Moon Assassins Guild.”

Li Shen’s eyes narrowed upon hearing that.

“Explain further.”
